Waiting at the Genius Bar for my appointment I encountered a family filled with generations. The youngest member is pictured here. I asked permission and conversed with the family before taking this shot. It spoke volumes to me about the familiarity that the youngest amongst us have with all things digital. The ergonomic chair, the wait, the navigation of a touch screen, all was familiar. Smiles and engagement. Love for his family. A connection to me, a stranger. All this was present but so was this engrossed attention to the screen. A new ‘app’ and its delivery. Can we send him to a school with only paper and crayons? Yes, his school must have paper and crayons but the horizon requires so much more of us if we are to truly open up the globe to him.
